What is a Career Check-Up?

The Career Check-Up (“Loopbaan APK”) is a tailored coaching program for professionals in the Dutch cultural and creative sector. Inspired by a vehicle check-up (APK), it helps individuals take time to reflect on their careers before problems arise. To date, more than 900 professionals have already taken part in the program.

Who’s it for?

The Loopbaan APK is available to employees working on a salaried basis at organisations affiliated with the Sociaal Fonds Podiumkunsten.

What does it involve?

• Three individual sessions with a coach who knows the sector well
• Each session lasts about 1.5 hours
• The content is tailored to your needs: reflect on your goals, challenges, energy, and possible future paths

What does the Loopbaan APK cost?

The Loopbaan APK has a personal contribution of €217.80. This is only a portion of the actual cost, as 70% is covered by the Sociaal Fonds Podiumkunsten, keeping the programme accessible and affordable.

What do you get for your contribution?

Your investment includes:

• Three individual sessions with an experienced career coach
• Insight into your career wishes and practical tools to act on them
• Reflection on your current situation and support in making choices
• Tailored assignments and guidance
• Access to additional tools and methods to support your career development

Are reimbursements or subsidies possible?

In some cases you may be able to recover (part of) the costs:

• Employers or clients: some collective agreements and organisations offer budgets for career development. Check whether your employer can contribute.
• Funds and schemes: sectoral and regional subsidies for training and career development exist. We are happy to think along with you about the options.

Please note: since the Sociaal Fonds Podiumkunsten already co-finances the Loopbaan APK, an additional individual subsidy on top of these contributions is not possible.

Cancellation or rescheduling

As with all online purchases, a statutory 14-day cooling-off period applies, unless a session has already taken place within that period, in which case the costs of that session are due. If you need to reschedule, please do so at least 48 hours in advance; cancellations made later will be charged.
